Let's say you could go back to any time in your life.

Let's say you could go back to any time in your life. You couldn't change anything but you could relive everything just as you did before.

When would it be?

I would go back to when my oldest son was 2.

I was taking night classes at the local community college. I was trying to keep the house clean and organized, planning dinners and playdates at the park.

We'd visit my parents in my hometown often and I'd meet up with friends. He attended preschool a few hours a day at our local church. Our Westie named Mr. McFu was my son's best friend- they'd chase each other around the house all day.

Sounds idyllic right?

In hindsight, it totally was.

But I definitely didn't appreciate it and I often felt stressed and pressure to be "perfect". I absolutely missed a lot of joyful moments with my son because I was cleaning, organizing or whatever thing I thought was important.

Many happy moments I can't even remember. The best moments though were when I was truly present with him. At the time they seemed like no big deal. Being in the car and singing silly songs as we were driving to activities. Watching movies together on a rainy day. Mornings when his dad would leave for work and he'd crawl into bed with me. He'd drink his bottle and watch Curious George on the TV.

Now he's headed off to college and I wish I had made more of those moments. So I'd love to go back and relive the simple things.

Giving him a bath was a nightly chore, but looking back it was a special time that I didn't know I'd miss so much.

So, when is a time in your life you'd like to relive?

XOXO,

Jackie
